The old tub comes out. A low-threshold walk-in shower goes in. Your floor, vanity and toilet stay put — and in most homes we're done the same day.

A conversion is not a remodel. We work inside the footprint your bathtub already occupies, which is why it costs a fraction of a full bathroom renovation and takes a day instead of a week.
Complete removal and disposal of the old tub — including cast iron, which we cut down in place rather than trying to carry out whole.
A new shower base — low-threshold or fully barrier-free, sized to your alcove.
Waterproof, grout-free walls — acrylic panels or tongue-and-groove tile, trimmed on site for an exact fit.
New valve, showerhead and handheld on a slide bar, usable seated or standing.
Grab bars anchored into solid blocking behind the wall — not toggle bolts in hollow drywall.
Optional bench, recessed niche, corner shelves and glass door.
Full cleanup and haul-away. You should not be able to tell we were in the rest of the house.
Every finish we install is grout-free. Nothing to scrub, nothing for mildew to grow in.
Marble & Stone Printed Acrylic — High-gloss printed acrylic in Calacatta Gold, Carrara and other stone patterns. Three-piece kit: one 60" × 98" back panel and two 40" × 98" side panels, trimmed on site for an exact fit. Grout-free. Most popular finish. Looks like stone, cleans like acrylic.
CNC Engraved Pattern Acrylic — Geometric patterns machined into the acrylic surface (Urban Maze and others). Three-piece 40" × 60" × 98" surround with real surface texture rather than a print. For a contemporary bathroom where a flat panel would look plain.
Solid White Glossy Acrylic — Clean solid white, high gloss. Three-piece kit, bonds directly to drywall or straight over existing tile. Panels trim to fit. The straightforward choice, and the fastest to install.
Tongue & Groove Grout-Free Tile — Premium vinyl tile with a matte finish that locks together tongue-and-groove with no grout lines anywhere. Fits walk-in tub surrounds, shower bases and tub-shower combinations. Tile appearance with nothing to scrub. Nothing for mildew to grow in.
The base determines how low the step-in is, which is the whole reason most people call us. A standard bathtub wall is 15 to 17 inches. These are a fraction of that — or nothing at all.
Is a Conversion Right for You?
A conversion makes sense if:
Stepping over the tub wall has become the hard part of your day
You haven't taken an actual bath in years
You have a second tub elsewhere in the house, or don't need one
You want the bathroom to work for the next twenty years, not just now
Send a photo of your bathroom and we can usually quote you the same day.

Call (586) 791-4800 and describe your Metro Detroit bathroom — most questions like this are easiest to answer with a quick phone call, and we'll give you a straight answer along with a fixed price.
Not meaningfully, and often the opposite. Most homes in Metro Detroit have a second tub elsewhere, and a genuinely usable, safe shower tends to matter more to buyers than a bathtub that hasn't been used in years. If you do want to keep tub functionality, a cutout with a removable insert panel is worth asking about.
Only as much as necessary to remove the tub and set the new base and wall panels — we don't demo tile outside that footprint, and our wall panels can bond directly over existing tile in many cases.
Yes. We install fully barrier-free, zero-threshold shower bases and L-shape wheelchair-transfer walk-in tubs, and can fit grab bars into solid blocking behind the wall on any job.
No. Every wall finish we install — printed acrylic, CNC-engraved acrylic, solid acrylic or tongue-and-groove vinyl tile — is grout-free, so there's nothing to scrub and nowhere for mildew to grow.
For a full conversion, typically one day — you can usually use the new shower again by the next morning once the silicone has cured. Cutouts are often finished in a few hours.
